Travel

The 2 nearest airports are Shenzhen Airport and Hong Kong International Airport.  Shenzhen Airport is preferred if possible for easier transportation.  Airport pickup will be arranged for participants arriving at the Shenzhen Airport.

For arrivals at the Hong Kong International Airport, participants have to travel on their own direct to China.  They can either take the bus or limosine service from the Hong Kong Airport direct to Dalang, Dongguan, or they can also travel to the Hong Kong / Shenzhen border, and we shall try to arrange pickup from there.  As there are a few Hong Kong / Shenzhen port of entry, complications increase.  Participants arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport can contact the organizing team at abac@dhgate.com for further details and assistance.

Airport Transportation

Followings are suggestions for airport transportation, depending your port of arrival:

1.  Arrival at the Shenzhen Airport

Notify the organizing team by email to abac@dhgate.com your flight itinerary in details.  Upon your arrival, proceed to Ground Traffic Centre (GTC) Car Park No. 1 of Termin 3 at the Shenzhen Airport.  Special pickup service will be arranged by the organizer.  It will take around 1 to 1.5 hour travel from the Shenzhen Airport to the hotel in Songshan Lake, depending on traffic.  Information of the Shenzhen Airport can be found at http://eng.szairport.com

2.  Arrival at the Hong Kong International Airport

Transportation is available at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to go to China.

Different options are available.  The best alternative is (i) to take bus or limosine

service direct from the Hong Kong International Airport to one of the leading hotels in

Dalang 大朗 of Dongguan 东莞, which is very close to the Songshan Lake.  During this bus /

limosine trip, it will pass through the immigration at the Hong Kong / Shenzhen border.

Total trip time takes around 3 hours.  (ii) Another alternative is to take a ferry from the

Hong Kong International Airport without going through the HK immigration, without having to handle baggage claim in HKIA, and direct to Shekou in Shenzhen.  Note that there are 2 different ferry routes to Shenzhen.  Please select the one to Shekou instead of Fuyong.  Ferry time takes around half an hour.  Please refer to following video for introduction of the ferry trip.  (iii) Other alternatives are available, but the participants will have to proceed on their own to the Hong Kong / Shenzhen border, and we shall pickup at the HK/Shenzhen border in Shenzhen.

A limo service can be found at the HKIA to go to Dalang 大朗 of Dongguan, which is very close to our hotel.  Their schedules can be found at http://www.eebus.com/e/cmspage.asp?content_id=110&cat_id=35&cat_level=2.  They have a Counter A12 at the arrival hall of Terminal 1 of HKIA.  The limo will bring you through the HK/Shenzhen border, and go directly to the Hyatt Regency Dongguan Hotel in Songshan Lake, which is very close to our hotel.

Introduction of the SkyPier at the HKIA to go to Shekou, Shenzhen by ferry:  http://youtu.be/AP-IIF5qWHE?t=23s  Note that only the initial 1-1/2 minutes of the video is relevant for this purpose.

Ferry schedules from the HKIA to Shekou, Shenzhen is around once every hour.  Ferry is probably the most comfortable and convenient way to go to Shenzhen because there is no need to pass through the HK immigration, and they also take care of your baggage automatically.  On top of that, there will be less people going through the immigration when you arrive in Shenzhen.  Ferry time table can be be found at http://www.cksp.com.hk/eng/skypier/timetable/main.html.  The following procedure roughly describes the ferry trip:

1.  Proceed to Area E2 upon landing WITHOUT going through immigration.  There is a counter there for purchase of ferry ticket.

2.  Present your baggage tag receipt to the counter staff.  Your baggage will be handled and delivered onboard.

3.  Confirm your baggage onboard status by checking at the ticket readers.  Wait until your baggage is onboard.

This process may take up to an hour.  Check with the counter staff for details.

4.  Once your baggage is onboard, proceed to the SkyPier through the Automated People Mover.

Note that step (3) & (4) are important to make sure your baggage will arrive with you at the same time on the China side.  For details or enquiries, please consult the counter staff.

For emergency, call the organizing team upon your arrival.  A phone no. will be provided to participants after confirmation of their flights.
